Boricua vote

Sen. Hillary Clinton's Bill Would 'Buy' Puerto Rican Votes with Tax Refunds

In what critics could likely call a "vote-buying” move, Hillary Clinton has proposed a bill that would provide some Puerto Rico residents with child-credit refunds on their Social Security and Medicare taxes.
Puerto Ricans pay no federal income tax.
The bill – sponsored solely by Clinton – could pay out more than $50 million over the next 10 years.
Political insiders say Clinton’s motive is obvious, the New York Post reports: "Puerto Rican support is crucial to her re-election – and a potential White House run in 2008. Puerto Ricans are born American citizens, ready-made voters when they move to the United States.”

Clinton needs the Boricua vote in order sustain a chance at becoming president. Do you think that this tactic of hers is wise? Do you think that she will gain the Puerto Rican vote if she offers tax refunds?

Clinton says that she is going to propose a bill that supports an increase in health care operations in Puerto Rico. It also provides more trained police to clean up the crime in the cities there. She is also pushing for more government jobs to with competent peoples in order to have them give up land to the people on Vieques Island. I think that this qualifies Clinton over Obama who made a short little visit back in November and gave little effort to thier vote. However the Governor of Puerto Rico has endorsed Obama.

I think that even thu it is thought that Clinton will win the Boricua power, the governor of Puerto Rico has already backed up Obama, so it is going to be kind of hard to find out who will win the Puerto Rican vote.

Clinton needs the vote but she cannot buy it. There really isn't going to be any difference with Puerto Rico unless the Puerto Ricans want it and they hav voted several time to stay a commonwealth and to stay separate from the United States.
